Oshi Push is an upcoming trading card game releasing in 2025. It was successfully funded on Kickstarter in Spring of 2024. The game will be offered through all of the main hobby distributors in North America and Europe, but we welcome contact from any potential distribution partners.

Early Summer 2025: The retail edition of Oshi Push is expected to release. The retail edition will include many never-before-seen artwork, commissioned specifically for this edition. Oshi Push is a trading card game inspired by the worlds and characters represented by virtual Youtube avatars called VTubers. I’ll let Akiko, Japanime Game’s resident VTuber, explain:

A person’s “Oshi” refers to their favorite VTuber and the “Push” refers to the practice of helping your favorite VTuber rise to the top of the digital charts. “Pushing” in this context can take many forms, such as paying for premium subscriptions or contributing funds to streams so your comment is highlighted in different colors. For example, if you want your Oshi to respond to you directly, you might pay for the highest tier so that your comment is highlighted in red and is more visible to your Oshi. This is a form of “Pushing”.

In the trading card game, players take on the role of an Oshi, referred to as a Persona in gameplay terms. By playing content cards, using actions, and upgrading their persona, they compete for dominance over digital platforms inspired by many of the real-world platforms one might watch VTubers on today.

VTubing is big business worldwide, with millions of viewers tuning in to see their favorite VTubers create content of all kinds. The virtual characters have become celebrities in their own rights, and as such, their appeal stretches far beyond the current trading card game demographics. While there is certainly overlap, our data shows that 60% of the 2000+ backers of our Spring 2024 Kickstarter were not current TCG players.

Oshi Push’s rules were designed by Justin Gary, famed creator of SolForge and Ascension Deck Building Game. It has the depth of gameplay and interaction one might expect of the best games on the market.

If you have trading card game players interested in trying out a unique rules system, one in which the characters are not punching each other in the face, but competing for resources in a shared platform row, then Oshi Push is for them.

Oshi Push is designed to have a low barrier to entry so it can be played alongside other games without breaking the bank. All of the mechanically unique cards are available at lower rarities so players can build decks easily, while higher rarity collectible items feature unique treatments but not unique effects.

VTuber Fans flocked to the Oshi Push Kickstarter because we are offering beautifully crafted novel ways to interact with their favorite characters. We will have high-end serialized cards, n/10 and n/100s, alternate arts, borderless treatments, promos, and much more. Many customers will enjoy collecting the game for all it has to offer, even if they have never played a TCG before.

We opted for flavor over function in naming the different rarities, but it’s fairly simply to understand.

Mechanically Unique Rarities

The following rarities are cards with unique game text.

Pon = Common

Supa! = Uncommon

Ao Supa! = Rare

Light Blue Supa! = Super Rare

Non-Mechanically Unique Rarities

The non-mechanically unique rarities are high-end and highly collectible, but are simply different versions of cards from the previous bucket.

In other words, all of the higher end rarity cards are special treatments, alt arts, borderless, serialized or have another special feature, but no unique game text.

Players get no gameplay advantage from using these versions: the much easier to obtain lower rarity versions work just as well.
